Day 1 ā Windhoek - Arrival
Welcome to Namibia. On arrival at Windhoek's international airport, you will be met and transferred to your selected accommodation for an overnight stay. The balance of the day is free to relax Namibia's capital, and the evening is at leisure.

Day 2 - Kalahari Desert
Departing Windhoek, this morning's drive takes us into the largest sand mass on Earth, the Kalahari Desert. Lacking permanent surface water, it is a challenging place to live with the exception of the Bushmen who flourish here. It is also home to many especially adapted wildlife. On arrival for our overnight at the Intu Africa Lodge, you can take an optional nature drive to experience the desert's dunes, wildlife and plants. The balance of the day and evening is at leisure.

Day 3 - Fish River Canyon
Continuing through the arid and extensive rocky plains we visit the unique Garas Quivertree forest with its extraordinary, centuries-old trees nestled amongst huge boulders often referred to as the 'Giant's Playground'. Later we arrive at the Canon Village Lodge located near the Fish River Canyon for an overnight. There will be time to explore the immediate area on foot. Or, there is an optional nature drive available later in the afternoon. The evening is at leisure at the lodge.

Day 4 - Fish River Canyon / Garub / Luderitz
The day starts on the edge of the Fish River Canyon gazing into this magnificent geological phenomenon, the second largest canyon on earth. Next, continue on passing Naute dam, with a brief stop at a distillery to try some local liquors before heading for Luderitz. Prior to reaching the coast, we'll stop to see wild horses at Garub, and arriving in Luderitz visit the Grosse Bucht and Diaz Points, then check in for a wonderful homestay at the Obelix Guest House. The evening is at leisure.

Day 5 - Kolmanskop / Helmeringhousen / Namib Desert
This morning we visit the Kolmanskop ghost town, once a booming diamond mining centre. Then continuing across vast open plains, stop for a light lunch (own account) in Helmeringhausen before passing the Tiras Mountain Range to spend 2 nights at The Elegant Lodge in the Namib Desert and located close to Sesriem, gateway to some of the highest dunes on Earth. The balance of the day is free to relax by the pool or take one of the Lodge's optional activities.

Day 6 - Naukluft National Park / Sossusvlei / Sesriem Canyon / Namib Desert
Starting early this morning, we enter the nearby Namib Naukluft National Park to witness an unforgettable sunrise when the sun turns the sand into dazzling colours. Then be captivated by Deadvlei and Sossusvlei, some of the world's highest dunes at with time to walk up one of them for amazing views of the surrounding desert. Next, we visit Sesriem Canyon, a life sustaining natural phenomenon in the heart of the desert before returning for rest of the day and evening at leisure at the lodge.

Day 7 - Solitaire / Walvis Bay / Swakopmund
After breakfast we stop at the tiny settlement of Solitaire for a coffee before travelling via the rolling hills of the Kuiseb Valley towards the Atlantic Ocean. At Walvis Bay visit its lagoon, one of the most important wetland areas in Africa, to see huge flocks of flamingos. Continuing north along the scenic route between the dunes and the sea, we reach Swakopmund, and check in for 2 nights at the Hansa Hotel with the remainder of the day free to explore this seaside town.

Day 8 - Swakopmund
Today is a full day at leisure in Swakopmund, often called the āplayground of Namibiaā. There are many optional activities to choose from, such as visiting a seal colony on the Skeleton Coast or taking a scenic flight. For the adventurous, go quad biking, skydiving or sand boarding, or just hang out and enjoy the town's quaint and vibrant, bohemian lifestyle with its historic buildings, museums, shopping arcades and beach bars. The evening is at leisure and overnight is at your hotel.

Day 9 - Depart Namibia
After breakfast we travel back to Windhoek. Time permitting there may be a stop at the craft market in Windhoek for last-minute souvenir shopping. Then you will be dropped off at the airport for your evening homebound flight.
