Starting in Lima with its colonial Spanish flavour, head to the Andes and discover the Incan Empire in all its majestic glory. Plus experience the vibrant culture of its ancestors, the Quechua and other indigenous groups.

Day 1 - Lima - Arrival
Arriving at the airport, our representative welcomes you to Peru and transfers you to AC Hotel by Marriott Lima Miraflores for a 2-night stay. The balance of the day is free to rest and enjoy the hotel's facilities. Or, take an optional, afternoon excursion to explore Lima's local markets with a guide.

Day 2 - Lima
After breakfast enjoy a guided city tour, visiting the historical quarter with its Spanish colonial plazas, the Government Palace, and Cathedral including its religious Art Museum. After touring the San Francisco Monastery, drive through different residential areas of Lima and some of its parks before ending the tour at the Larco Museum dedicated to pre-Colombian art. Return to the hotel to relax this afternoon before going out later on a gourmet dining tour to discover Lima's finest cuisine. Overnight is at the hotel.

Day 3 - Cusco / Sacred Valley
After breakfast you are transferred to the airport for a flight to Cusco. On arrival our representative will meet and transfer you to the Sacred Valley. En route, stop at Pisac to spend time visiting its famous and colourful crafts market where you'll see many indigenous people in traditional outfits. Also enjoy a box lunch. Later, arrive at the Sol y Luna Hotel for 2-night stay. The balance of the afternoon and evening is free to enjoy this beautiful hotel in its stunning location.

Day 4 - Sacred Valley
Today's full-day excursion starts in Chinchero where you take part in a weaving workshop using early Peruvian techniques. Next, travel to the impressive and colourful Maras Saltpans to learn about the Inca's use of this important resource, followed by lunch in a local restaurant. Our last stop is at the Inca fortress and citadel, Ollantaytambo. This massive ruin site of buildings and temples overlooks the Urubamba River high in the Andes. Return to the hotel and spend a relaxing evening.

Day 5 - Machu Picchu / Cusco
This morning transfer to the station and board the Vistadome train, enjoying wonderful scenery en route to Agua Caliente. Here, board a bus for the short ride to Machu Picchu, where you'll have a guided tour of the world-famous Inca Citadel. After lunch at the Sanctuary Lodge with its stunning panoramic vistas, return by bus and train to Cusco. On arrival you are met and taken to the Marriott El Convento Hotel for a 2-night stay. The evening is at leisure.

Day 6 - Cusco
After breakfast, set off on a half-day, guided tour of Cusco where you will visit such historical monuments as the Plaza de Armas, the Spanish cathedral, the Santo Domingo church and the Sacsavhuaman Fortress, an example of the Incan Empire's great power. You will also see many other Incan ruins including an amphitheatre, Inca baths and the Red Fortress. Returning to your hotel, the afternoon and evening are free to explore this fascinating city on your own. Overnight is at your hotel.

Day 7 - Depart Peru
Today you are transferred to the airport in Cusco for a flight back to Lima. Here you will be met on arrival and assisted with making your connecting flight home.
